Prior to returning to academia full-time, I began my career at the U.S. Department of State and eventually worked with the U.S. Department of Defense.
Public Service.
During my time working alongside our nation’s service members, I worked at U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, our country’s largest and oldest strategic combatant command, responsible for administering the National Security Strategy and the National Defense Strategy in 36 different countries within the Asia-Pacific region. I served in a number of roles, but concluded my tenure as a Communication Strategist on a team responsible for overhauling the external and internal joint communication processes of the U.S. military at the strategic and operational levels. Before that, I served as a Security Assistant with the U.S. Department of State, where I received two Franklin Awards for work accomplished while posted to the U.S. Embassy in Canberra, Australia.
